About Me

me

I teach math at the Cooke Center Academy, a school for students with disabilities in lower Manhattan, New York City. I am also working with Illustrative Mathematics to create accessibility for students with disabilities to the Open Up Resources middle school mathematics curriculum. I have also contributed to publications such as: NCTM’s Math Tasks to Talk About Blog, Becoming the Math Teacher You Wish You’d Had, and the Global Math Department Newsletter. You can contact me at agael@cookecenter.org. I tweet at @bkdidact.

I am interested in the diversity of the learning process for each individual student as well as working towards equitable access for all students to the highest quality mathematics instruction.
